Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: 

Y5/K teachers will meet students outside on the playground in the morning.

As students get more comfortable with the routine, they will be taught to enter

the building at the bell with students in grades 1 - 5. 

Students may enter for breakfast or be on the playground as early as 8:10.

The bell rings at 8:23 for students to line up.

The first week I will be on the playground helping students get to our line.

I will meet everyone at the front doors after making sure all playground

and breakfast students are in the right place! 

Please note that parents and family members are NOT able to enter the building

with their child through the playground doors.

Parents and family members need to enter at the front of the building and

check in with the office if you need to enter the building. I know it is tough.

A fun handshake, signal, high five will help!

We have a lot of fun things planned for the week and school year! 

At dismissal, Y5/K teachers will walk students to the back of the school by the overhang at 3:40. This allows us to help our littlest learners get to their families without the congestion of other grades.

Teachers will NOT dismiss Y5/K students without seeing the parent/guardian.

I recommend that you park your car and walk over to retrieve your child.

It is difficult for us to recognize you right now. As the year progresses, it gets easier.

Snack Sign up for this Week

 

Thank you for signing up for a day to bring in a class snack.  

If you did not sign up and would like to send in a snack, that is great.  

We can never have too many extra snacks.

You can send in 30 individually wrapped snacks or big containers with napkins.

Welcome to Lincoln Young Fives

Reminder that this week we will phase in the students.  

Mon/Wed  Students with Last name A-K

T/Th Students with Last names L-Z

Please send your child with a backpack, water bottle, headphones, closed toe shoes and a lunch/snack if they are a picky eater.  They may also bring their bag with a show and tell anytime this week.  I know children like to wear slides and flip flops but they do not work well with the wood chips and for climbing on playground equipment.

If you are wanting your child to eat breakfast at school please bring them to the gym door at 8:10.  If your child enters the building at the normal 8:30, they will not be able to get breakfast.  If I do not see a lunch box for your child, I will be ordering them the school lunch.  

I am sure many of you are curious about what your child's day will look like.  This is the schedule of your day.  It also shows the days that we have each of our specials.  On Late Start Days, our schedule shifts slightly.  I will include an example of a late start schedule next week.

Wednesday is our Gym day.  Please make sure that your child wears gym shoes on that day.
